Obviously, the site will be on hold until I can work out what to do.

Like many people wildlife brings me such joy, and I have now sunk into a bad pit of depression. Hopefully manage to sort out a new area to watch wildlife, but as a disabled person that can’t travel that is almost impossible.

My stroke symptoms and Dystonia have made it very hard to be in sunlight. Can only last 10 minutes before I shake so much I can’t stand, face numbness, drooling, loss of eyesight and start to feel like I am choking and can’t breathe.

Managed a short period outside, still struggling in sunlight. I am spending most of my wildlife watching time outside at night from about 10pm with the badgers, foxes and far too many mice! Today I was able to do a quick butterfly count, under 10 minutes:

6 x Red admiral
3 x Peacock
1 x Large white
1 x Small white
1 x Holly blue,

This was my first one Holly Blue! Had to search for ages to work out what it was. My Collins Butterfly Guide says it isn’t present in Scotland, but the Butterfly Conservation lists it as present around the Edinburgh area. At first I thought small blue as it was smaller than the small copper, but it had more blue than small blue, it had very few underwing markings, in fact it was almost white underwing.
